Rhinoplasty, also called Nose Surgery, is performed to improve the appearance of the nose. Many people are unhappy with the nose they were born with or become unhappy with their nose appearance after an injury. An open rhinoplasty occurs when the incision is made on the exterior of the nose (usually on the thin strip between the nostrils), while a closed rhinoplasty occurs when the incisions are all made inside the nose (thereby leaving no visible scars).
